The South Dakota Golf Association Championships will have its match play tournament this weekend at the Brookings Country Club which will feature players from the Pierre area.
The men’s and senior men’s match play will begin on Thursday and run through Sunday while the women’s and senior women’s match play championships will get started on Friday. Each player will get three guaranteed matches in pods of four with two playing on Thursday and another one on Friday in the men’s and senior men’s championship to get the final 16 for the single elimination bracket to have the first two rounds on Saturday and the semifinals and championship on Sunday. For women and senior women’s brackets, there will only be eight pods for eight winners to make the quarterfinals and to be played on Saturday in the afternoon. The semifinals and championships will all be played on Sunday. Pierre will be represented by a couple of Governors in Luke Olson and Lincoln Houska along with other Pierre residents playing throughout the weekend.
Tee times are set to get rolling at 7:00 AM each of the four days.
