Fort Pierre Man Arrested By Pierre Police On Aggravated Assault Charge Friday Morning

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Fort Pierre man was arrested by Pierre Police Friday on an Aggravated Assault charge. Pierre Police Department Detective Sergeant Cole Martin says officers were called around Friday morning around 1:25 am to the 700 block of East Dakota Avenue for a reported assault. The investigation at the scene led to the arrested of 41 year-old Edgar Ochoa. Martin says the investigation found Ochoa displayed a weapon during a verbal altercation with an adult female. Martin did not indicate the type of weapon Ochoa may have had. He also did not give an age for the alleged female victim. Ochoa was taken into custody and transported to the Hughes County Jail on a single charge of Aggravated Assault. Ochoa is scheduled to make his first court appearance on the charge Monday. The Aggravated Assault crime Ochoa is charged with states attempts to cause serious bodily injury to another or causes such injury, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life.
