Watertown Man Arrested Saturday Night By Pierre Police

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre man is facing charges in Hughes County after an incident on a Pierre street Saturday night. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says officers responded to the area around Missouri Avenue and Central Avenue Saturday night around 9:30 pm for a report that someone was deflating tires on a vehicle. An investigation found that the male victim was parked in the street loading a trailer when a second man started to let air out of the vehicles tires. Police identified the suspect as 35 year-old Jeffery McGuire of Watertown. McGuire told police he was upset that the vehicle was parking in the road. As the victim confronted McGuire, McGuire took the victim’s phone as he tried to call police . McGuire, according to Pelle threw the phone on the ground, breaking the device’s screen. McGuire was taken to the Hughes County Jail on charges including Simple Assault-Intimidation; Intentional Damage to Property; Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Interference with Emergency Communications.
