Parmelee Woman Arrested Saturday In Pierre On Assault And Other Charges

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Parmelee woman is facing charges in Hughes County following a reported assault in Pierre. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says officers were called Saturday night around 7:40 pm to the 800 block of South Washington Street for a reported assault. Investigating officers determined 31 year-old Rhea Farmer had punched a male subject in the face and had also swung a knife near the man in an attempt to cut him. Pelle says the investigation also indicated Farmer threw an object at the man, hitting him in the face. He did not say what the object was that hit the man in the face. The investigation also found Farmer to be high on marijuana at the time. As officers attempted to take Farmer into custody she began to resist the officer’s efforts. Farmer was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Hughes County Jail on charges including Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence; Ingesting a Substance to Become Intoxicated, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest.
