Two Arrests Made In Pierre Following Report Of Man Being Chased By Car Last Week

PIERRE, (KCCR) — Pierre police have arrested two people in connection to an odd incident last Friday afternoon. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says officers were first called to the area near the intersection of Pawnee Street and Missouri Avenue around 4:30 pm on Friday June 14th for a report of a man being chased by an automobile. As officers arrived, the located the vehicle, driven by 24 year-old Bryanna Redwater of Pierre. A short time later, officers made contact with the man, identified as 32 year-old David Rinehart of Pierre. As officers made contact with Rinehart, he fled, running to an apartment in the 300 block of South Ree Street. Rinehart was located and found with illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on him. Redwater was taken to the Hughes County Jail on an active arrest warrant. Rinehart was also transported to the Hughes County Jail on charges of Obstructing an Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Pelle says no information was able to be obtained about the initial report of Rinehart possibly being chased by the vehicle Redwater was driving.
