Pierre City Commission To Hold Brief Joint Meeting With Hughes County Commissioners

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A light agenda sits before the Pierre City Commission. Tonight’s meeting at the Pierre Municipal Building will start as a joint meeting with three members of the Hughes County Commission. The joint meeting will consider two items. One is the plat of two lots in the Camelot Addition and the second is a public hearing at 5:45 pm for a conditional use permit request for three lots in the Shamrock Commercial Addition. When the joint meeting adjourns, Pierre City Commissioners will consider approval of a five-item consent calendar including minutes, claims, a raffle request, firefighter application and wage adjustment in the Parks Department. Another public hearing is set for 5:45 pm. This one is for a temporary liquor license filed by the Longbranch in Pierre for an event on June 22 at the Missouri Avenue Event Center. The Commission will also give first reading to a proposed ordinance change on the nine-one-one surcharge and will discuss city office closures on July 5th. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
