FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is holding its final regularly scheduled meeting of June tonight. Council members will hear reports from city officials before getting into agenda items. A proclamation for the Boy Scouts will be made and Paul Lepisto will give a presentation on the annual Lake Sharpe clean-up event after the 4th of July. Second and final reading will be given to a utility rate ordinance change for a water surplus charge to pay for a planned water storage tank and Council members will consider a pay request for work on Benjamin Street. Bids for the Tatanka Trail pedestrian bridge will be discussed along with a fireworks permit and the medical cannabis license renewal for Grassroots, Home, Health and Wealth for cultivation and dispensary. Other agenda items include a hay ground bid notice, a right-of-way closure for the 4th of July, a resolution for an application for additional financial assistance for a water project and setting a public hearing for a drinking water improvement project. The Council will also consider an engineering contract with I-S-G. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room at six pm.
