Stanley County Wins 5-Stand State Title

In the backyard of Stanley County High School, Stanley County would take home the 5-Stand team State Championship on Saturday at Willow Creek.

Varsity

Jace Nickolas would win the individual varsity state championship for Stanley County followed by teammate Wyatt Mortenson at 87 and 81 respectively. Treyson Stout would tie for third for Pierre with Stanley County’s Mason Stoeser at 79 and Pierre’s Bryce Becker would round out the top five at 78.

Junior Varsity

Pierre’s Kaylee Blauert would score a 68 and finish in second place in the female division while Stanley County’s Chase Meyer would be tied for third at 72 in the male division. Pierre’s Jaxon Jungwirth would be fifth, Trey Hutchinson sixth, Cooper Hillmer eighth, Arthur Olson ninth and Colton Cass tenth. Jungwirth rounded out the top five with a 70.

Novice

Pierre’s Ella Oxford was the only female participating in the novice division shooting a total of 29. In the male division, Stanley County’s Coy Ludemann would place fourth with a 67 while Pierre’s Logan Steiner would score a 58 for sixth place. Ryker Rathbun and Kooper Myers would place ninth and tenth for Stanley County.

Overall, Stanley County would score a team total of 390, seven better than Belle Fourche to win the team championship.
