The Oahe Zap would get three home runs from Vince Pollizi in an 11-6 win over the Nebraska Prospects on Wednesday in the first of a quick two game series.
The 11 runs is the most from the Zap this season after scoring 10 in an 11-10 loss. Oahe had four home runs which doubled their home run total of 2024 as Buck Snabes would also homer for Oahe. Pollizi would hit his first homer of the game in the bottom of the first as he and Snabes would go back-to-back to make it 3-0 in the first. Oahe would get a run by an error in the bottom of the fourth to make it 4-3, but a three run top of the fifth would get the Prospects in the lead for the first time at 6-4. Brayden Bynum would get an RBI ground out in the fifth to make it 6-5 and after Leandro Guevara would single to tie the game in the sixth, Pollizi would hit his second two run shot of the game to make it 8-6 and put the Zap out in the lead for good. But he wasn’t done there. In the bottom of the eighth, Guevara had another RBI single to make it 9-6 and Pollizi would hit his third two run homer of the game to make it an 11-6 lead for the Zap. Jakeb Swallow would get a no-decision in the start giving up six runs, five earned on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Angel Escobar would get the win with the final four innings of relief shutting out the Prospects on two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
Oahe is now 3-8 on the season and will close out the series against the Nebraska Prospects on Thursday before welcoming in Hastings on Friday. First pitch is at 6:05 from Hyde Stadium.
