PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is holding a rare post-election Thursday night meeting tonight. The Commission normally meets on the first and third Mondays of a month but is moving it’s meeting so that canvassing of election results can take place. Following approval of the consent calendar, Commissioners will consider first reading and plat consideration of two items. Both are to plat and rezone parcels to Ag-B-Two. Three first consideration of plats are on the agenda. They include the plat of one lot in the Donahue Addition; two lots at Helen’s Place and two lots in the Camelot Addition. Commissioners will then canvass votes from the Primary election and consider surplussing property and the third floor heating and cooling system. Also on the agenda are two grants relating to the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative program, the Hughes County jail parking lot, considering Friday July 5th as a holiday and reports.
