Regional Economic Conditions Continue To Stay Near Neutral Territory

OMAHA, NE, (KCCR) — Business conditions in the middle of the country continue tread water with giving no signs of changing anytime soon. Creighton University economics professor Dr. Ernie Goss says the Mid America Business Index fell back below growth neutral in May…

It’s the third time in four months the zero-to-100 scale has been below 50. Goss says supply managers surveyed in the nine-state Mid America region are seeing hiring struggles continue…

Goss says much of the region saw wage gains for employees…

Goss says 42-percent of supply managers expect slower economic growth for the remainder of the year. He also expects no change in interest rate until at least September. South Dakota’s index dropped substantially from previous months. It dropped to 43-point-two from April’s region high 61-point-four.
