PIERRE, (KCCR) — City of Pierre work crews will come off the holiday weekend ready to work. Highland Avenue is set to close on Tuesday for about two weeks depending on weather conditions City Engineer Nick Waters says Highland is being closed from Broadway to Church Street for a rebuilding project. The asphalt surface will be removed so a new base can be installed and then overlaid with new asphalt. No utility work is taking place with the project. Last year, this section of Highland had new curb and gutter installed to be ready for the new street surface. No through traffic will be allowed on the closed section of North Highland during the construction.
