Day One of the 2024 State Track and Field Championships begin at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls with 29 state champions crowned by the end of the day.
12 of the 29 events to hold finals will be running events as the boys and girls 3200 meter runs and sprint medley relay race will have its finals for all three classes. Field events to crown a state champion will be the Class A girls pole vault, long jump, discus and high jump. On the boys side Class A will have the discus throw, pole vault and long jump. For Class B, the boys will have the long jump, shot put, and triple jump finals while the girls will have the shot put throw and triple jump. In Class AA, it will be he boys and girls high jump, boys and girls javelin and boys pole vault.
The Class A girls pole vault will start the day at 10:00 with track events starting at 11:00 AM at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. Friday’s schedule begins at 9:00 and Saturday’s at 9:30. You can see a full schedule below.
