2024 State Track and Field Day One Results

The first day of the 2024 Track and Field State Championships is in the books with a total of 29 state champions crowned and a big two days remain beginning at 9:00 AM on Friday.

Pierre

The Pierre Governors had a top ten finish in day one as the team of Jayden Brandt, Haeden Wheelhouse, Caleb Morris and Jared Lutmer finished in seventh place in the 4×800 relay race. Colby Carey would finish 11th in the pole vault.

Sully Buttes

Addison Chicoine and Payge Bakker finished 20th and 25th in the shot put throw for the Chargers as the only two to compete in final events on day one for the Sully Buttes Chargers.

Stanley County

Paxton Deal would finish in sixth place in the long jump in Class A for the Stanley County Buffaloes. He was the only one competing in a finals for the first day.

Jones County

The Jones County Coyotes had a ninth place finish in the 4×800 in the Class B championships as Jett Nix, Bryer Kinsley, Kaden Kinsley and Adrik Schoon would place ninth at a time of 8:48:72. Schoon, Kaden Kinsley, Thad Kierl and Asa Best had a 10th place finish in the sprint medley relay race for the Coyotes.

Potter County

Potter County had four top ten finish on day one as Landon Larson placed second in the Class B state long jump as the junior hit a new PR at 21-05.25. Kayden Cronin was eighth in the triple jump while the team of Dannika Kaup, Finlee Heien, Jaydn Ahlemeier and Emma Schlachter were fourth in the 4×800 relay while Kaup, Schlachter, Cronin and Megan Seurer were fourth in the sprint medley relay race.

Miller

Joanlei Baker had an 11th place finish in the discus throw for the Miller Rustlers in Class A on Thursday. She had the best finish of the three finals on day one.
