Governor Softball Season Ends with SoDak 16 Loss to Harrisburg

The Pierre Governor softball season would end at the hands of the Harrisburg Tigers in Sioux Falls on Tuesday with the Tigers beating the Govs 16-1 in four innings.

Pierre had 10 errors in the ball game as only seven runs were earned against pitcher Noel Kist who went three and 2/3 innings allowing 15 hits and a walk. However, 13 of the 16 runs had RBIs from the Tigers. Hailey Boer had two home runs and Maleia Knutson had a solo homer as all three were inside the park homers. Boer, Macy Bryant and Peyton Bennett each had a triple and Bryant, Alexis Fay and Dessa Bryant each doubled as the Tigers finished with nine extra base hits in the win. Jenna Bucholz and Micah Buffalo had a hit while BreAna Lowery would finish with two hits. Aliyah Erickson had the lone RBI on a fielder’s choice in the top of the second.

Pierre finishes the season at 3-18 while Harrisburg improves to 18-2 and advances to the Class AA state tournament
