Governors Two Bad Innings Lead to Sweep

The Pierre Governors let two innings, one in each game, get away from them as the O’Gorman Knights would sweep the Governors on Friday 15-4 and 10-0.

Pierre played OG 4-4 through five innings which included a first inning solo shot from Cade Kaiser and a third inning RBI double from Kaiser. Nolan Petersen and Grayson Hunsley each would have an RBI as Hunsley tied the game at 4-4 heading into the sixth. However, it was an 11 run sixth inning Trevor Rounds allowed nine unearned runs in the sixth and was tagged with the loss.

In game two, O’Gorman would score seven runs in the fourth taking a scoreless game out of reach as Rylan Arbogast would throw a four hitter in a complete game shutout. Cooper Terwilliger would double for the Govs as Weston Northrup, Spencer Easland and Petersen each had hits in the loss.

Pierre is now 10-9 on the season and will face Yankton to close out the season on Sunday. First pitch is at 1:00 with coverage at 12:45 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
