Augustana Softball Advances in Division II National Tournament

The Augustana Vikings remain unbeaten in postseason play and have won 30 straight games defeating Pittsburg St. on Saturday 9-2 to advance to the Super Regionals in the Division II National Softball Tournament.

In the tournament clinching game, Gracey Brink went 2-2 with four RBIs while Desi Cuevas went 3-4 with a home run and two RBIs. The Vikings jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and then with the game tied 2-2 in the fifth, Andrea Cain drove in the first two runs of the five run inning to claim the lead for good and win the Regional round. Grace Glanzer allowed two runs on eight hits, two walks and four strike outs.

Augustana advances to the Super Regional Round where they will face Rogers State who won all three of its games by shutout.
