PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is meeting tonight at the Hughes County Courthouse. Commissioners will start with approval of a four-item consent calendar including claims and meeting minutes from meetings on April 9th and 15th. In special business, Commissioners will recognize three Hughes County Sheriff’s deputies recently awarded Medals of Honor for their work during a standoff last year near Spring Creek. Commissioners will consider approval of compensation and mileage fees for Weed and Pest Board members and a copy machine in the courthouse. The Commission will discuss the Square Nine scanning and file director and budgeted cash transfers. Other agenda items include consideration of the Hughes County volunteer storm spotter list, personnel items and reports from Auditor Thomas Oliva, County Manager Lori Jacobson and Commission liaisons. The Commission will meet in executive session for human resources, HIPPA and care of the poor, public safety and security. The Hughes County Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
