Euclid Avenue Project Could Cause Traffic Issues Over Multiple Years

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission took action last week to have their engineering consultant H-D-R Engineering revise the city’s facility plan to add water utility replacements under Euclid Avenue. That change was requested so the city can seek state water project funding to assist in paying for the work. The utility work is being done in conjunction with the South Dakota Department of Transportation’s plan to refurbish Euclid from Sioux Avenue to past Eighth Street. Utilities Director Brad Palmer says the project will likely be done in sections…

The project will include having to get under Sioux Avenue at the Pierre Street intersection which will create additional challenges for everyone…

Palmer says they are hoping for a two-year project but are preparing for it to take three years to complete weather permitting.
