The Pierre Governor baseball team will finally get its chance to play at home this weekend after having its first two doubleheaders at home canceled. The Governors host Mitchell tonight and Harrisburg on Saturday.
The Governors haven’t played since Monday, April 22 when the Govs swept the Mitchell Kernels on the road improving to 9-4 on the season. Now, the Govs will face the Kernels again as Mitchell comes in at 3-6, having won both games against O’Gorman and Washington since being swept by the Govs.
Harrisburg comes in to the weekend having played Washington on Thursday, sweeping the Warriors in a doubleheader and are 20-4 overall, 12-2 in the state on a seven game winning streak. The Tigers are second in the standings behind only Brandon Valley while Pierre is in fifth place heading into the weekend.
Coverage tonight begins at 5:45 with first pitch at 6:00 while Saturday’s doubleheader starts with coverage at 12:45 and first pitch at 1:00. All four games will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
