The Mount Marty Lancers are still alive in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Softball Tournament finishing 1-1 on Wednesday eliminating the Concordia, Seward Bulldogs in an elimination game.
The Lancers, the eight seed in the GPAC, would drop a 7-0 decision to top seeded Northwestern in the first game of the day, but came back knocking off fourth seeded Concordia 6-3 to eliminate the Bulldogs. Mount Marty out hit Northwestern in the opening round game 8-6, but couldn’t muster any runs. The Lancers then opened up the second game with a six run first inning scoring all their runs before the Bulldogs even came to the plate. Lillinoe Nihi drove in a game high two runs for the Lancers in the win.
Mount Mary has to play Morningside at 10:00 AM in an elimination game to face Northwestern needing to win twice to advance to the GPAC championship series.
