Augustana Shuts Out St. Cloud State to Reach Conference Semifinals in Perfect Game

The Augustana Vikings softball team would shutout the St. Cloud State Huskies 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament on Thursday behind a perfect game from Grace Glanzer.

Glanzer would only have two strikeouts in the game, but the defense was flawless behind her not allowing a batter to reach base in all seven innings. Glanzer only had to throw 81 pitches in the seven innings of work.

The Vikings offensively would take advantage of a one out error in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead before Torri Chute would hit a two run homer to take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first inning. Gracey Brink would then hit a two run double in the bottom of the fifth and later score on another St. Cloud State error to give the Augie a 6-0 lead.

Augustana will face Minnesota State-Moorhead who beat Minnesota State 9-0 in the first game of the day. First pitch is at 12:00 on Friday from Ronken Field in Sioux Falls.
