The Pierre Governor tennis team begins its busy week with a trip to Mitchell finishing 1-2 on Monday with a win over Vermillion but losses to Mitchell and Yankton.
The Governors would knock off Vermillion 7-2 in its only match against a Class A team. Both Mitchell and Yankton, even though they are in the ESD are both in Class AA. Pierre would fall to the Kernels 8-1 and to Yankton 9-0 as the Govs are now 5-12 in duals which includes a 1-7 ESD record. The ESD tournament is scheduled for next Monday which Pierre will host.
The Governors are set to play again on Thursday at home with a couple of duals before hosting its annual tournament on Friday. The day on Thursday will begin at 10:00 AM.
