Governor Baseball Canceled again Sunday

Governor Baseball Canceled again Sunday

The Pierre Governor baseball team knew on Thursday they wouldn’t play on Friday, continued to hold out hope for a Sunday contest, but ultimately was canceled again.

Pierre has had three of its last four doubleheaders canceled because of weather which includes two of three would be the home opener. The Governors are still 9-4 so have played plenty of baseball to this point, but still have not been at home this season. The next chance is now Friday and Saturday with doubleheaders against Mitchell on Friday and Harrisburg on Saturday. The Govs are sitting around the top five when the first official standings should be released this week.

Coverage on Friday is set for 5:40 with first pitch at 6:00 and then on Saturday starting at 12:45 and first pitch at 1:00. All four games to be played at Hyde Stadium with all four games on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
