Aberdeen Wins Game Three, Loses Game Four, Game Five Set for Monday

The Aberdeen Wings are heading to a decisive game five on Monday after winning game three 3-2 and losing game four 8-2 against the Bismarck Bobcats in the first round of the NAHL Playoffs.

Friday night the Wings would take a 2-1 series lead. Bismarck would score with just five seconds remaining in the first to take a 1-0 lead, but Weston Turner and Jibber Kuhl would give Aberdeen its first lead of the game before Simon Pollock would break a 2-2 tie in the third to give the Wings the lead for good leaving just one win away to advance in the playoffs.

Then on Saturday, Bismarck came out the desperate team and left no doubt of taking this series to five games. The Bobcats exploded for three first period goals and led 5-0 before the Wings would get on the board. It would be 8-1 after the second period and all Aberdeen could do is win the third period to gain some momentum heading into game five. Pollock scored in the second and Luke Melnik scored the lone third period goal.

The winner-take-all game five is set for a 7:15 puck drop Monday in Bismarck. The winner will face the Minot Minotauros in the Central Division Championship.
