Tripp County Man Sentenced On Federal Larceny, Other Charges

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A northern Tripp County man has been sentenced in federal court on multiple charges. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 27 year-old Tredell Long Crow of Ideal was sentenced this week to five years of federal prison time for Larceny and being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. Long Crow was also ordered by Chief Judge Roberto Lange to repay over 17-hundred dollars in restitution in the case along with three years of supervised release after the prison term. Ramsdell says Long Crow in July of last year, stole a vehicle from a home in Sioux Falls and drove the vehicle to Ideal. In the early morning hours of July 16th, Long Crow was engaged in an argument with two people and had pulled out and fired a gun. Long Crow couldn’t have the gun due to a prior conviction in state court from Minnehaha County on a drug possession charge. The case was taken to federal court due to the property the incident happened on being a part of the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. Long Crow was taken by the U-S Marshals Service to begin his sentence.
