Former Sully Buttes Charger standout Chloe Lamb will be heading to the Big Ten to coach. Lamb will join the Minnesota Golden Gophers coaching staff as the director of player development.
Lamb, who won back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017 for the Sully Buttes Chargers before being a key piece into the success the South Dakota Coyotes saw on the basketball court over her five years. She was named the 2022 Summit League Player of the Year after leading the Coyotes to their first NCAA Division I Sweet 16 appearance. She was the 2022 Summit League Tournament MVP and helped the Coyotes claim both the Summit League regular season and tournament titles. Lamb is a four-time All-Summit League selection and was a First-Team member in her final two seasons at South Dakota.
Lamb comes into the team with a lot of familiarity as the head coach, Dawn Plitzuweit was Lamb’s coach throughout her time as a Coyote. Plitzuweit will enter her second year as head coach of the Golden Gophers for the 2024-25 season. Minnesota went 20-16 in the 2023-24 season falling in the championship game of the WNIT to St. Louis.
