Governors Canceled Friday in Brookings, Still Hoping to Host Tea Sunday

The Pierre Governor baseball team will not be traveling to Brookings tonight, but are still hoping for favorable weather on Sunday to host the Tea Titans for the home opener.

The Governors are 9-4 on the season and are looking to still get games in this weekend, but the weather forecast is making things look bleak to host. The doubleheader in Brookings is not scheduled to be made up this season.

Tea will come in on Sunday if the weather holds having potentially played on Saturday in Rapid City if weather doesn’t force cancellations. The Titans are 7-6 having won three in a row including a doubleheader sweep of Washington on Tuesday. Tea is scheduled to face Rapid City Central and Douglas before stopping in Pierre on the way home on Sunday.

Sunday’s games will have coverage starting at 11:45 AM on YouTube at KCCR Sports. We’ll pick up the broadcast on KCCR after the church service concludes just after first pitch at 12:00. Jon Winkler and Blake Dean will have the call.
