PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. A proclamation for Arbor Day will be made in special business before Commissioners consider approval of a three-item consent calendar. A public hearing for airport hay leases is scheduled for 5:45 pm. In new business, Commissioners will get details on the 2024 Summer Recreation and Go Green and Clean Programs. The Commission will consider a request to purchase a pressure washer for the City Vehicle Washbay and a resolution for State Revolving Funds for construction of Cell Four at the city landfill. Commissioners will also consider approval of a financial assistance agreement with the South Dakota Aeronautics Commission along with the introduction of the plat of lots in Wells Second Addition. Other agenda items include Business Improvement District number One’s request to move funds and a grant to the Oahe Wheelman; budget carryovers from 2023, a request to surplus city property and a resolution to appoint a city attorney.
