Governors Pick up Eight Wins in First Home Meet

The Pierre Governor Track and Field team would be at home for the first time all season on Monday as the Govs would grab eight individual wins at the Legion Relays.

On the girls side, Reese Terwilliger would win both the shot put and discus throws while Kali Ringstmeyer would win the 200 meter run along with the 4×100 relay teaming up with Elliot Bertsch, Anastyn Baade and Charlee Williams Smith. Grace Richter would pick up the win in the 400 meter run. Ringstmeyer, Richter, Williams-Smith and Allyson Bauer would be second in the 4×400 relay. For the boys, Jared Lutmer would grab two wins in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs and Colter Babcock would win the javelin throw. Carson Stoeser would place second in the 400 meters and long jump and Emmit Anderson second in the shot put.

The Stanley County Buffaloes would send a select few across the river as Brianna Sargent would get the lone top five finish placing third in the 400 meters. Kayson Magee was sixth in the 800 meter and Paxton Deal was sixth in the long jump and in 4×100 relay with Colton Brady, Landon Bame and Brendon Bothwell.
