Two different Pierre Governor sports will not be participating this weekend due to the inclement weather as the Legion Relays are postponed on Friday and the Governor softball games are postponed for Friday and Saturday.
With the high winds and low temperatures, it would not be conducive for both sports to compete and drawing the postponements of both. However, everything has a make up date announced. The track meet will just move from Friday to now Monday with all times staying the same.
The Governor softball team will move its game on Friday against Harrisburg to Monday, May 6 at 4:00 and the Brandon Valley game on Saturday will be postponed to Tuesday, May 14 at 4:00. This moves the home opener to now being Monday, April 29 against Watertown. Pierre was supposed to have its home opener on Thursday, March 28 against Watertown, so it will still be the home opener, just a month later.
Pierre’s next softball game will now be on Tuesday, April 23 in Rapid City against Stevens and Sturgis.
