Stemped Lose in Overtime, Series Tied

The Sioux Falls Stampede and Tri-City Storm will have a deciding game three on Wednesday night after the Storm would win 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday in the first round of the USHL playoffs.

Sioux Falls again wouldn’t trail in regulation as Noah Eyre would net the first goal of the game at the 8:53 mark. Jaksen Panzer would make it 2-1 for the Herd at 14:11 and the score would hold up until 11 minutes into the third period where the Storm would tie it and force overtime for the second straight game. This time, though, belonged to the Storm as Owen Beckner would pick up the game winning goal forcing a decisive game three. Sioux Falls went 0-4 on the power play while Tri-City scored all three of its goal on the man advantage going 3-6 in the win. The Storm outshot the Stampede 36-23 as Christian Manz made 33 saves in net.

Game three is tonight in Kearney, Nebraska. The winner of tonight’s game will face the Fargo Force in the conference semifinals. Puck drop is at 7:05.
