Lower Brule Man Sentenced In Federal Court For Domestic Violence Crimes

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Lower Brule man has been sentenced on federal domestic abuse charges. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says Chief Judge Roberto Lange sentenced 32 year-old Isaac Goodface on Monday to on two counts of Domestic Assault by a Habitual Offender. Goodface was sentenced to four years in federal prison with three years of probation after his release. Goodface was indicted by a federal grand jury in September of last year and changed his pleas to guilty in November. Ramsdell says Goodface physically assaulted the same victim on two different occasions while on the Lower Brule Sioux Reservation in Lyman County. In an instance of assault in September of 2022, Goodface threw the victim on the ground, strangled her and hit her face and head along with preventing the victim from leaving. In the second incident, Goodface hit the victim in the face and pointed a gun at the victim during an argument. After sentencing, Goodface was placed in the custody of the U-S Marshals Service to begin his sentence.
