Team South Dakota 16U girls finished its pool play undefeated and rolled to a 4-0 record before falling in the national semifinals claiming third place back on April 6. The third place finish helped get several representations on the All-Tournament team including Oahe’s Brylee Kafka.
Kafka along with teammate Harper Hendricks from Watertown were both selected as forwards into the All-Tournament team. Kafka led Team SD with eight points, second most in the tournament with two goals and six assists. The six assists were tied most in the tournament. Hendricks would finish with six points in four games scoring four goals and grabbing two helpers tying for the third most points in the tournament. South Dakota outscored its opponents 16-5 in the four wins before its 3-0 defeat in the semifinals.
Team South Dakota 16U boys would almost fill every spot in their national championship team. Rushmore’s Colton Merchen, Cameron Ritter and Jaxon Prussner all were selected to the All-Tournament team along with Aberdeen’s Jaxon Danielson and the goalie from Sioux Falls Easton Mescher.
