Governors Drop Second Game of Weekend to O’Gorman

The Pierre Governor softball team would fall 10-5 to the O’Gorman Lady Knights on Saturday going 0-2 on the weekend and dropping to 2-3 on the season.

Pierre jumped out to a 1-0 lead two batters in as Noel Kist would draw a walk and be brought in by Nevaeh Karber, but went down 5-1 at the end of four innings. Down 6-2 heading into the sixth, Pierre would get three runs back drawing within one as Aliyah Erickson would triple to lead of the inning and Charlie Hull, BreAnna Lowry and Kist would each get an RBI to make it 6-5. However, OG would get four runs in the bottom of the seventh to create the separation for the win. The Govs had 10 hits which included two from Karber, Erickson, Hull and Lowery. Kist would take the loss in the circle going all six innings allowing 12 hits, 10 runs, seven earned on one walk and five strikeouts.

Pierre is now 2-3 on the season and will have its home opener on Friday when they host the Harrisburg Tigers at the Riggs Softball Field.
