The Pierre Governor tennis team would get its first ESD win and second win of the season defeating the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles 5-4 in the home opening dual on Thursday.
The Governors would get wins by Devin Dodson and Weston Northrup in doubles flight two while Northrup would get a win in singles flight four. Pierre would also get wins from Brady Lowery in singles flight five, Jacob Leiferman in flight three for four of the five wins. Lucas Hight in flight two would split its two sets forcing a tiebreak set to 10, but having to win by two, he would eventually win 11-9 and would be the difference maker in the Govs gaining its second win of the season.
