Golf Begins Season with Trip to Harrisburg

For the first time this year, the Pierre Governor golf team will be on the course competing as they travel to Harrisburg for the first scheduled invite.

The golf season wisely is behind the start of the rest of the spring sports and while other sports had to cancel and postpone events, golf is just getting underway hoping to beat all the cold and rain throughout the season. Today the Governors will play at the Spring Creek Country Club in Harrisburg. Hadley Hart and Andrea Mosteller return to the team from the varsity squad after Hattie Baldwin, Madilyn Brakke and Avery Lisburg all graduated last year. Those two will be the only two heading out to Harrisburg for the meet today. Tiffany Benham, head coach of the Pierre Governors says it’s to help ease the younger girls into competition setting them up for success…

Benham explains what she hopes for both Hart and Mosteller…

While this spring has been better than last spring, it’s not been conducive to being outside, but Benham says the team has been practicing inside…

Going into the first meet of the season, Benham says to take it one hole at a time…

The invite is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM this morning in Harrisburg.
