Potter County with 12 Individual Wins in Early Bird Meet in Onida

The Sully Buttes Chargers would host eight teams on Tuesday kicking off its season with the Pierre Governors, Potter County Battlers and Highmore-Harrold Pirates all participating.


The Governors would win five individual events which included two wins for Eladio Simental as he placed first in both the high jump and long jump. Matthew Brewer would place first in the shot put throw for Pierre while the team of Aiden Bass, Jacob Mason, CJ Moses and Tryton Parmely would win the 4×800 relay. A mixed relay team would also get first in the 4×800 relay. On the girls side, Amara Dell would be second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters while Ely Broers would be third in the shot put throw.

Sully Buttes

Gavin Barber would have the best day for the Sully Buttes Chargers placing second in the 200 meters, third in the 400 meters and fifth in the 100 meters. Teegan Westphal would place seventh in both the javelin and in the triple jump. For the girls, Jaydn Jaeger was third in the discuss and fourth in the javelin throw. Addison Chicoine was fourth in the shot put while Payge Bakker was right behind her in fifth place.


Highmore-Harrold had three wins as Carson Stepheson had the win in the 800 meters while Autumn Fallis was first in both 1600 and 3200 meter runs Aitor Ortega was second in the 100 meter run and third in the 110 meter hurdles along with being second in both the high jump and long jump

Potter County

Potter County had the best day of any team with 12 individual wins as Carter Luikens would win both the 200 and 400 meter runs while Nicholas Schlachter would win the 1600 meter and 3200 meter runs. Megan Seurer would collect two wins in the 100 and 200 meter runs while Emma Schlachter would win the 800 meter run and Dannika Kaup the 300 meter hurdles. The team of Serer, Taylyn Rausch, Rayel Persoon and Kayden Cronin would win the 4×200 relay while Persoon, Kaup Schlachter and Jaydn Ahlemeier would win both the 4×400 and 4×800 relays. Cronin would also win the triple jump for the Battlers.
