Governors Face Huron in Single Varsity Game

Governors Face Huron in Single Varsity Game

Tonight the Governors will travel out to Huron for a single varsity game facing the Tigers with the home opener still 10 days away.

The Governors are 4-2 on the season and face the Tigers who are 0-4 having been swept by both the Brookings Bobcats and Yankton Bucks over the past week. The Tigers were outscored 21-1 by Yankton on Saturday only having five hits between the two games. However, the Tigers played two close games on Thursday last week with Brookings falling 2-1 and 7-5. Huron’s pitching, which will be available today, can certainly dictate on where this game goes. Pierre wants to hit like they did in the three wins over the last weekend which included a home run by Sutton Sonnenschein. It’s the first of five games this week for the Governors as we approach the midway point of April.

JV will play first at 5:00 with the varsity to follow. Coverage will start around 6:45 and first pitch around 7:00 with the varsity game on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
