The Pierre Governors worse inning on Friday was the third when they outscored the Rapid City Central Cobblers 4-2 as Pierre rolled past the Cobblers 24-2 for its second win of the season.
Pierre scored five runs in the first and second innings before sending home 10 runs in the top of the fourth to win a four inning shortened game to improve to 2-1 on the season. Rapid City Central had 12 unearned runs in the loss but it was Ely Broers with four RBIs while Erin Leiferman and Aliya Erickson each had three RBIs. Eight of the nine hitters recorded an RBI in the win as Nevaeh Karber had the game high three hits along with a triple. Leiferman went all four innings on the mound giving up two unearned runs on three hits, three walks and nine strikeouts.
Pierre will travel to Yankton next week Friday for a 4:00 first pitch.
