Two Sully Buttes Chargers would be selected for the All-State teams last week as siblings Stevie and Wesley Wittler made the Class B teams.
Stevie, a senior for the girls basketball team, received second team All-State averaging nearly 20 points a game along with four rebounds per game. The Northwestern College commit led the Chargers into the top four of the region before getting injured in the playoffs. Susie Rilling, head coach of the Charger girls team says Stevie is a playmaker…
Stevie has been a part of the Chargers varsity basketball squad her entire high school career and Rilling says she’s contributed a lot to the program…
Only a sophomore, Wesley shined on the court for the Chargers and scored at a high rate knocking in 22.5 points per game and dishing out 3.2 assists per game making the honorable mention. He is one of two sophomores on the All-State honorable mention and one of three sophomores in total listed on All-State for Class B. Brian White, head coach of the boys team says this shows coaches know Wesley’s very good…
Wesley also grabbed 7.4 rebounds per game and White says for his size, he’s one of the best rebounders he’s ever coached…
And as only a sophomore, White says he hopes this recognition only makes him want to be better…
