PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission holds its first meeting of April tonight. The Commission will consider approval of a five-item consent calendar. On the calendar are minutes and claims, seven seasonal hires for Hillsview Golf Course, a new hire at the library and a raffle request filed by the Pierre Area Chamber. A public hearing is scheduled for 5:45 pm. That public hearing is for a temporary liquor license request filed by the Missouri Avenue Event Center for an event on April 7th. The Commission will also consider approval of the 2024 street paving bid. In new business, Commissioners will consider a memorandum of understanding with the Oahe Family Y-M-C-A, a plat request and first reading of an ordinance change regarding storage and shipping containers. Commissioners will end the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the community.
