This week begins the start of Team South Dakota in its National Tournaments as the Oahe Capitals have representation on three teams which includes the 16U Girls team competing in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Brylee Kafka and Katie Reiss will both be playing this week for Team South Dakota as the duo is part of 17 players overall who will be up north for the tournament. It’s a balanced team from players across the state as Brookings has the most from its team with just four girls playing on Team SD. Both Sioux Falls and Watertown each have three girls apiece. Kafka was second in the league in scoring this year with 23 goals picking up 27 points overall while Reiss picked up five goals and two assists for the Capitals.
Team South Dakota opens the day on Wednesday, April 3 playing at 3:00 against Honey Baked, Michigan. Thursday’s game will be at 11:00 AM against Team Colorado and Friday’s game at 3:00 against Valley Thunder, Alaska. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on Saturday with Sunday’s championship game at 11:15 AM.
