Local Athletes to Compete in Three Class Shootout

Saturday, basketball players from across the state will meet for the 36th Annual Three Class Shootout held in Salem as a couple of local athletes will take the court for their respective class.

The Three Class Shootouts are for seniors only and have to be invited to play in the game. This year, Reese Terwilliger of the Pierre Governors will join the AA team. Terwilliger helped lead the Governors to a fifth place consolation finish at the AA state tournament and was a presence as a junior in the Govs reaching the state title game in the 2022-23 season.

Skyler Volmer of Lyman will also be participating on the Class B team. Volmer for the Raiders this season leading Lyman to the state tournament and an upset win over Harding County in the first round as the seven seed placed fourth in the state tournament.

On the boys side, Nic Marshall and Jaylen Uhlir of White River will play for the Class B team as well as Layne Cotton of Faulkton.

The schedule will start with Class AA vs. A Girls at 1:00 with the winner facing the Class B girls at 2:30. At 4:00 it will be the AA Boys vs. A Boys with a dunk contest to follow and the winner of the first boys game will face the Class B boys to wrap up the night.
