Softball Opening Game Postponed

Softball Opening Game Postponed

The cold weather and impending winter storm caused the Pierre Governor softball team to delay its opening day for the second ever season.

Pierre and Rapid City Central were scheduled to open the year on Saturday with a 2:00 Central time first pitch, but the decision was made on Friday to postpone the game, but a makeup date and time is still to be determined. Last year, the Govs and Cobblers were fortunate enough to play its opening day game before a lot of games were postponed because of weather. Now, Pierre will have the opportunity to play its opening game on Tuesday, however that is also weather pending with this weekend’s winter storm. Pierre and Watertown are scheduled to meet in Aberdeen on Tuesday at Presentation College for a triangular at the bubble.

Pierre is scheduled for a first pitch at 3:00 against Aberdeen Central and the second game to follow on Tuesday.
