The Pierre Governor softball team is set for its second season and will build off the 2023 year, but will do so after eight seniors graduated. The Govs are in Rapid City this weekend weather pending.
The Governors went 6-13 in the first year of school sanctioned softball and begin its 2024 season against Rapid City Central who they played at home in the inaugural game last year. Pierre hit .327 as a team led by Ely Broers who hit .500 for the year while Noel Kist and Jenna Bucholz return as the RBI leaders with 11 and 12 respectively.
