The top seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits women’s basketball team would knock off the South Dakota Coyotes Monday afternoon at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls to advance to the Summit League Championship with a 76-63 win.
The Jacks were led by Brooklyn and Paige Meyer each scoring 20 points with Brooklyn leading all scorers with 21. Madison Mathiowetz dropped in 10 as three players hit double figures for the Jacks in the win. South Dakota State had a slim two point lead at the end of the first quarter, but then jumped to a seven point lead at the break and outscored South Dakota in all four quarters shooting 50% from the field on the afternoon. Nicole Avila-Ambrosi led for the Yotes scoring 16 while Grace Larkins added 15 and Carley Duffney poured in 12 as South Dakota’s season ends with a 21-12 record.
South Dakota State will face the second seed North Dakota State in the Summit League Championship this afternoon. North Dakota State beat Oral Roberts 75-66 on Monday to reach the title game. Tip off from the Premier Center is set for 3:30 this afternoon.
