Lyman Comes in as Seventh Seed, Leaves with Fourth Place Finish

The Lyman Raiders would fall to Ethan on Saturday 67-42 in the third place game in Rapid City at the State B Tournament, but the Raiders finished three spots higher than they were seeded heading into the tournament.

Ethan jumped out to a nine point lead in the first quarter and then had the lead up to 19 at the end of the half as the Raiders didn’t have an answer to the four seed. The Rustlers were led by Marissa Storm who had a game high 22 points while teammate Ava Lingemann finished with 16 as the duo helped lead Ethan to shoot over 50% from the floor to claim the third place trophy. Lyman’s Mak Scott had 15 while Brooke Palmer finished with nine. Ethan took advantage of the turnovers outscoring Lyman 24-8 in points off turnovers to help secure the win.

Lyman finishes the season at 21-4 with a fourth place finish at the state tournament. It was the Raiders first appearance in the state tournament since 2014.
