Governors Knock off Stevens, Advance to Fifth Place Game

The Pierre Governors would beat the Stevens Raiders on Friday afternoon 52-47 to advance to the consolation championship on Saturday in Sioux Falls at the AA state tournament.

Big games from Reese Terwilliger and Lennix DuPris sparked the Govs to victory as Terwilliger had a team high 21 points while DuPris finished with 20 as the two combined for 41 of the teams 52 points. Pierre shot well from the free throw line to help seal the win going 15-19 in the game while Stevens only attempted 11 in total. The Govs also took advantage of the mistakes by the Raiders as the Govs outscored Stevens 26-7 in points off turnovers. Taaliyah Porter had the game high 23 for the Raiders as no other players hit the double digit mark.
