This afternoon, the Oahe Capitals will begin its state tournament with the 4-5 matchup as the five seed taking on the Sioux Falls East Flyers in the first round.
The two teams played close in days as East won the first game 5-1, before the Caps came back and tied the Flyers in Sioux Falls a week later with a 2-2 score. Oahe will look for its first win over East and a chance to play Saturday night in the state semifinals, a spot they’ve been to the last four years. Jarron Beck, the captain of the Capitals says Oahe has to come out aggressive today…
The Capitals have 13 seniors this year and Beck says its special getting this final tournament together…
Steve Steele, head coach of the Capitals says Sioux Falls East is the sole focus leading up to the weekend…
And overall for the weekend, Steele says they need their three best games of hockey…
